WASHINGTON, DC – Representative Bob Gibbs was sworn into the U.S. House of Representatives today by House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH). He will represent Ohio’s 18th Congressional District in the 112th Congress.
“It is an honor and a privilege to represent the people of Ohio’s 18th District,” said Gibbs. “I am ready to go to Washington and work to restore people’s trust and faith in Congress.”
“I am proud to be a part of this historic new Congress as we begin to address the needs of the people,” said Gibbs. “For me, the 112th Congress is about putting people back to work. In order to do that, we need to stop the reckless spending habits of Washington and allow the private sector to continue creating jobs and invest in our workforce.”
“I will remember the message the American people sent Washington in November and work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to control the federal budget and reduce deficit spending,” said Gibbs. “I will also fight to provide tax relief to the middle class and reform unnecessary and burdensome small business regulations.”
Congressman Gibbs will serve on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and the Agriculture Committee.
