I’ve had the chance the past few days to really sit and think about the election that happens November 2nd here in Ohio. What are we voting on in our local, state and federal races?
Many would say that it is an ideological struggle between the Republicans and the Democrats. Others would say it is the struggle for our national identity and what this nation was founded and built upon. Others say it is the pivotal point in our great nation’s history and we could slide down the slope into oblivion as the world’s greatest nation (past tense) or a renewing of that greatness.
I propose that it might be something greater than all of these.
It is a fight between Good and Evil.
It is true that many people have gotten caught up into this political movement the past year in hopes of changing the political landscape to take back our nation and founding Father’s principles. I believe we have deviated from the original intent and thoughts of the Nation’s parents whom put their life, liberty and fortunes on the line to give birth to what we’ve negligently strayed from as wayward children often do.
It is my true hope that we come to realize the errors of our ways and come back to these founding principles just as the Prodigal Son did to his father.
One thing we have truly forgotten though, in the midst of the excitement of political hubris (on both sides) is what this battle is really about and where it is actually fought. Have we forgotten that this election isn’t a political battle, but a battle for everything in a spiritual sense?
This battle raging over the political landscape isn’t about Democrats or Republicans. It really is about Good and Evil. Our founding Fathers built this nation on the principles, guidelines and personal convictions based on their devotion to a true God – the God of the Bible and the principles thereof. One, whom they referred to time and time again in the founding documents and letters written to one another, in their speeches and daily life. They realized that without these Biblical principles, a Nation following in these footsteps wouldn’t take long to lose its way and degrade into what we’ve witnessed happening right before our very eyes.
We reward the wrong doers while penalizing those trying to do good. We say wrong is right and right is wrong.
It is sad when our own government and those that serve in it feel they know what is better for the masses and rule as they are god. Not realizing they answer to a higher authority, just as we all do for our own individual lives. But those who have been entrusted to higher positions will be judged more harshly in accordance to their positions of authority.
That should scare the living hell out of anyone running for office.
I ask that you vote according to your conscience. Don’t vote Republican or Democrat, Libertarian or Consitutionalist. Vote your Conscience.
If we don’t realize that our Nation is in a battle for its very soul and that it really is about Good versus Evil then, on an individual level, we’ve already lost the battle. I pray though that many will see the true nature of what is at stake and vote not for themselves, but for their children.
It is the children that unfortunately inherit the since of their parents in this case. We can either be a blessing to them, or a curse.
It’s all up to you and how you vote this election season…
