My two young sons always have a knack for blaming someone else when things go wrong. Most of the time they blame each other trying to get the other child in trouble. It is an innate response when they know they have done wrong but don’t want to be the recipient of the consequences.
Many times I think the government, especially this administration and ranking democrats are acting much like my immature children with anything that happens that “isn’t good for the party”. A great example if the BP Oil spill in the Gulf.
This past week Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi had this to say.
“Many of the people appointed in the Bush administration are still burrowed in the agencies that are supposed to oversee the [oil] industry,” Pelosi said when asked if Democrats could have prevented or mitigated the crisis by keeping a closer watch on the industry.
Added the Speaker, “the cozy relationships between the Bush administration’s agency leadership and the industry is clear…I’ve heard no complaints from my members about the way the president has handled it,” Pelosi stated.
There’s comes a time in everyone’s life where they need to step up to the plate and start taking responsibility for the things that happen while you are in charge. I have this to say to our “government” just as I do my children.
Grow up and take responsibility!
